Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow could torch these 3 teams in 2021
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow could torch the Detroit Lions in 2021
The Detroit Lions are such a weird team this year. On the one hand, there’s some optimism that Jared Goff could step into that offense and make them a respectable unit. On the other hand, Goff was traded for a reason and the fact of the matter is that the Lions’ defense stunk it up badly a year ago.
Detroit finished the 2020 season as the worst total defense in the league and surrendered the third-highest number of yards. The Lions gave up more than 20 points in all but one game last season and surrendered more than 30 points in 10 games. Heck, they allowed 40 or more points in five of their 16 games.
This is great news for Burrow and the Bengals when the team heads to the Motor City in Week 6. Assuming the Cincy defense can make a few plays and the o-line can keep Burrow upright, the Bengals should be able to win this one pretty convincingly.
Joe Burrow is a dark horse MVP candidate entering his second year in the league and there’s a reason for that. He had the greatest college football season ever for a quarterback and that’s why the Bengals took him with the top pick last year.
Burrow showed through 10 games as a rookie that he can make a difference and now that the Bengals have added his favorite target from college, the sky really is the limit for what Joe Burrow can do at quarterback this year.
Hopefully, he can torch the teams he should be torching, such as the Raiders, Jaguars, and Lions, three of the worst defenses in the league a season ago. If he can do that and also keep things close against some of the tougher teams, Bengals fans will truly start to believe this kid is the answer in getting the team to the promised land.
