Toughest Quarterbacks on Bengals 2021 Schedule – No. 3: Lamar Jackson
Bengals fans dread whenever the Baltimore Ravens are up next on the schedule because this is a team that has had their number in recent years. Lamar Jackson plays a big part in that and the 2019 NFL MVP is always a major pain in the butt for the Bengals.
While Jackson didn’t put up gaudy numbers against Cincinnati last year, he didn’t really have to. The Ravens steamrolled the Bengals in both meetings, thrashing them 27-3 in the first meeting and 38-3 in the second one. It was clear that Baltimore was a better team and they didn’t need Jackson slinging the football to prove that.
That being said, Jackson won the MVP in 2019 for a reason and that’s because of his playmaking abilities. He might be a better runner than he is a passer, but Jackson has shown he can do that with ease against Cincinnati, rushing for 97 yards against them in the second meeting last year. In his MVP-winning season, Jackson rushed for 152 yards against the Bengals in a game. That was brutal.
Jackson might not be a scary passer, but he’s gone 5-0 against the Bengals and has shown that when push come to shove, he knows how to beat this team. That’s why he had to make an appearance on the list of toughest quarterbacks on the 2021 schedule.
