Toughest Tight Ends on Cincinnati Bengals Schedule – No. 1: Travis Kelce

The Bengals have the “honor” of facing Travis Kelce in the 2021 season when the Kansas City Chiefs come to town in the second to last week of the regular season. It’s the final home game for the Bengals this season and it has the potential to be a sneaky good matchup.

What likely won’t be a good matchup though is Kelce against whoever is forced to slow him down. Kelce is one of those players who simply can’t be slowed much, at least not if you want to open things up for Tyreek Hill and the rest of that Chiefs offense.

Kelce’s coming off yet another impressive season where he recorded a career-high number of receptions (105), receiving yards (1,416), and touchdowns (11) through 15 games. He’s had five consistent seasons with over 1,000 yards receiving and is a freak of nature when the ball is in his hands.

The best performance from Kelce last year was in the AFC Championship Game vs Buffalo. Kelce crushed the Bills defense that day, shredding them to the tune of 13 receptions for 118 yards and two trips into the end zone. He’s capable of popping off a performance like that in any game.

The Bengals have faced Kelce twice and haven’t surrendered a touchdown to him yet. He had five catches for 95 yards against Cincinnati in 2018. Fans would gladly take that stat line when he comes to Paul Brown Stadium for a Week 17 showdown.

The Cincinnati Bengals just so happen to have the two best tight ends in the league on their schedule and also have to deal with another top five tight end as well. This makes what’s considered one of the toughest schedules in the league even tougher.
