Bengals RB3 Options – No. 3: Trayveon Williams

Unlike the other players on this list, Trayveon Williams has spent time in the Bengals organization and has played in regular-season games for them. He’s appeared in 21 games over the last two seasons and has carried the ball 26 times for 157 yards, averaging six yards per carry. All of that production came in 2020, for what it’s worth.

Even with his previous experience in Cincinnati, Williams has more competition than usual this year. He was a monster during his days at Texas A&M, rushing for 1,760 yards and 18 touchdowns during his final year in College Station in 2018. That production led to the Bengals taking him in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

If Williams does win the RB3 job, the Bengals will be in a decent spot with him there, as he’s familiar with the team and the offense. But, if the team truly believed he was the answer moving forward, they wouldn’t have spent a sixth-round on another running back in this year’s draft.

That’s why I have Williams third on this list. He absolutely still has a chance to be the third-string option but it’s going to take one heck of a preseason showing.
