Last year was a new low for the Cincinnati Bengals, as, for the first time since 2010, they didn’t have a single player make it to the Pro Bowl. Now it’s worth mentioning that the Pro Bowl is nothing more than a popularity contest but still — The fact that a single Bengal didn’t make it is embarrassing.

As we enter the 2021 season, however, the Bengals have a chance to surprise some people. This team might not be a star-studded cast but there are several players who have a chance to make it to their very first Pro Bowl this year.

Let’s take a look at five Bengals who could be first-time Pro Bowlers in the 2021 season. We’ll start with one of the many talented receivers.

Bengals who could make their first Pro Bowl – No. 5: Tee Higgins

It’s not surprising that Tee Higgins didn’t make the Pro Bowl last year. While he had a nice season, he didn’t amass 1,000 yards and, as sad as it is to say, plays for the Bengals, making it more difficult for him to make a splash.

Higgins is coming off a season in which he caught 67 passes for 908 yards and six touchdowns, which is exactly the kind of production Cincinnati was hoping for when they made him their second-round pick last year. Higgins came through in a big way and the team is hoping for even bigger things from him in 2021.

Higgins has a crowded receiver room in Cincinnati, which could make it tougher for him to get more involved in the offense but it could also up his stock, as he’d be one of the big three in the Jungle. If he’s able to put up monster stats while splitting time with Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd, why wouldn’t he deserve a Pro Bowl nod?

Fans are excited to see what Higgins can do this year and with a big season, he could easily punch his ticket to the Pro Bowl for the first time.
