Bengals who could make their first Pro Bowl – No. 3: Joe Mixon

Surprisingly, Joe Mixon hasn’t made it to a Pro Bowl yet in his career. As he enters year five, he’ll look to make it to his first one but he’s coming off of an injury and that could definitely hinder his level of play.

Mixon rushed for over 1,100 yards in 2018 and 2019 and was one of the few bright spots on the Bengals’ offense, especially during that pitiful 2-14 season. The injury this past year kept him out of 10 games but he was on pace for another solid season, rushing for 428 yards and three touchdowns through his first six games.

The problem for Mixon is that the competition at running back is stout, especially in the AFC. The Browns have two Pro Bowl-caliber running backs, the Ravens have J.K. Dobbins, and the Steelers have a promising rookie in Najee Harris. That’s just the AFC North, I didn’t even get to Jonathan Taylor and Derrick Henry, who are also in the stacked AFC.

To make his first Pro Bowl, Mixon is going to have to match his 2018 and 2019 totals and that might be hard to do coming off an injury. If he can do that, however, there’s a decent shot that he gets to his first-ever Pro Bowl.
