Cincinnati Bengals: 5 players who stood out after 1st padded practice

Cincinnati Bengals who stood out after padded practice
3. Jackson Carman
Another player who spoke to the media ahead of practice was second-round rookie Jackson Carman, who is transitioning from tackle to guard this summer. There’s been a lot of discussion surrounding Carman (both good and bad) and it was nice to finally hear from the Clemson standout.
Carman noted during his press conference that he felt comfortable at both guard positions, which is huge moving forward. Neither guard position has a starter in place at the moment, so if Carman feels confident playing at either spot, that’ll increase his chances of being a starter come Week 1.
He mentioned that new offensive line coach Frank Pollack is already one of his favorite coaches and that he’s learning more than he ever has. The confidence was there during Carman’s presser but the offensive line certainly struggled during practice.
Carman ran with the ones on Tuesday and was the right guard during those drills while Michael Jordan was at left guard. This group did not look great, as noted with the Smith entry earlier, getting pushed around frequently.
Honestly the idea of Jonah-Jordan-Price-Carman-Smith is kinda terrifying and I know they're mixing guys in today but let's hope this unit turns around in the coming days. https://t.co/4Rxu0wzgOZ

As Jake Liscow tweeted above, this isn’t the starting unit we’ll probably see come Week 1, but if it is, this offense will be in for a world of hurt.
