NFL teams rely on incoming talent to help them compete and take their team further than in years past. Whether the newcomers are through free agency or the draft, they’re expected to come in and pack a punch. The Cincinnati Bengals have seven newcomers who are in line for a starting job and could really or break this team in 2021.

Let’s take a look at the seven newcomers vying for a starting job and what kind of impact they could have on this team should they win the starting gig.

Bengals newcomers projected to be starters – No. 7: Joseph Ossai

Landing Joseph Ossai in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft was a homerun for the Bengals and hopefully, Ossai can get into the starting lineup during the course of his rookie season.

Ossai, who played college ball at Texas, is going to be a versatile player for Cincinnati and that’s one of the things they like about him. He played linebacker for the Longhorns but can also line up as a defensive end, which gives the Bengals options as to where to put him on the field.

OurLads has Ossai as the Bengals’ designated pass rusher entering the season, which is hopefully going to boost their sack total. The Bengals finished last in the league in sacks a season ago so adding Ossai should help increase that number.
