Cincinnati Bengals players to watch

6. Jackson Carman

This one is pretty obvious but stay in tune for rookie Jackson Carman. The Bengals are banking on this kid being unique in his role, considering they passed on Penei Sewell for Ja’Marr Chase and then selected Carman in round two out of Clemson.

Carman so far has been a little shaky in training camp, but as a young player, that is expected. This will show a lot for him playing against a solid pass rush in the Bucs, even if it’s for a short period. I do expect them to let Carman have plenty of run with the second or third unit. He will be playing guard with either unit.

Overall though, be excited to watch Carman play because he is an essential piece for the Bengals’ offensive line moving forward in the future. Cincinnati can’t afford to strike out on another offensive lineman, and no, that won’t answer that question in just one preseason game, but it could be the start of realizing what to expect from the rookie this season.
