Players who boosted their stock

2. Jacques Patrick

Like Chris Evans, Jacques Patrick made the most out of his opportunity on the field for the Bengals. Patrick had 15 rushes for 71 yards, and his longest run of the game was for 24 yards.

I would give Patrick the upper edge over Trayveon Williams and Pooka Williams to make the roster in the running back room as a result of this performance. The Bengals may not take four running backs on the roster, but if they do, Patrick could add a great deal with his strong-willed mentality and the way he attacks the holes with his underrated speed and power.

Patrick was on the practice squad last season for the Bengals and never got a chance to play in the preseason and show his ability. Now it seems coach Taylor is giving him a real opportunity to prove himself and potentially make the 53-man roster.

Coming out of Florida State, he was very impressive but never got a real chance in the NFL, so he made the switch to the XFL and played for the Tampa Bay Vipers in 2020. Ultimately, he made the return to NFL. Patrick is 6’3″ 226 pounds, which could make him a solid asset in short-yardage situations.
