Players who boosted their stock

1. Evan McPherson

The kicking battle is in full form between rookie Evan McPherson and Austin Seibert and both made all of their kicks Saturday night. McPherson looked comfortable drilling 31 and 40-yard field goals right down the middle.

This feels like McPherson’s battle to lose, so as long as he stays consistent, I don’t see a way this job won’t be his for the taking. He has been outstanding in training camp, which translated to the game, which is precisely what Bengals fans and staff needed to see.

The Bengals have lost many games in the past to missed kicks, so getting this right will be one of the most critical issues to solve this offseason for Cincinnati. Seibert will not make this easy for him, though, as he also connected on two 30+ yard field goals.

Unless Seibert puts on a showing throughout the rest of preseason and McPherson doesn’t then don’t expect Seibert to come out on top of this job.

These players saw their stock skyrocket as a result of Saturday’s game. Will they build on that in the final two preseason games?
