Has the Cincinnati Bengals’ defense really turned the corner?

Entering the season the biggest question marks around the Bengals were the offensive line and the defense. While the offensive line has seen some improvement, the defense is who has really shined. While much of the attention has been on the young players who are fighting for roster spots pr playing time, the starters have quietly put together two really good games in their limited playing time.

The revamped first-team has put in impressive showings against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers and most recently against the Washington Football Team. Now, it has only been for a few drives in each game, but the fact that there is a positive feeling about this unit is huge. New players have been able to step into their roles and do everything asked of them so far.

Against the Dolphins, I will be looking to see another dominant performance for the drive or two the starters are in. With some of the question marks surrounding the offense, a solid defense would be a welcome surprise.

Following some of the young players fighting to make the roster and especially the defensive line depth and specific areas that fans and coaches should be looking at before we jump into the regular season.
