Bubble Players Who Should Make Bengals Roster

3. Trenton Irwin

We discussed Trent Taylor earlier and how he deserves to make the Bengals’ roster but now we’ll talk about another depth receiver piece named Trenton Irwin. This will be year three for Irwin if he does indeed make the final roster and while he might not make a strong impact during the course of the season, he’s a depth piece and he’s proven in preseason that he can be relied upon if needed.

The highlight for Irwin during Sunday’s game was when he hauled in a key catch and took a major shot in the process. Even with that being the case, Irwin managed to hold onto the ball and give the Bengals a critical first down in doing so. He finished the game with two catches for 39 yards.

The Bengals might be stacked at wide receiver but Irwin has played very well in preseason and also looked good in training camp. He’s done more than enough to land on the final roster and if the Bengals risk putting him on the practice squad, he’s going to get snatched up by another team.
