Bubble Players Who Should Make Bengals Roster

2. Thaddeus Moss

The battle for the third tight end spot on the roster seems pretty evident but I’ll still list the reasons why Thaddeus Moss should be that guy. First and foremost, yes, there’s the connection he has to Joe Burrow from their LSU days together in 2019. That can’t be the only reason Moss makes the team though and he made sure he did enough to show he’s more than just another former teammate of Burrow’s.

Moss was targeted a total of six times in the preseason finale on Sunday and ended the game with two catches for six yards throwing in a nice spin move that resulted in a first down. He’s been an intriguing player during training camp and preseason and it’s not like the Bengals are set in stone with their starting tight end.

If Moss makes the team, there’s a good shot that he can work his way into the starting position by season’s end. His previous chemistry with Burrow might have earned him the opportunity in Cincinnati but his performance this offseason has made him seem like an obvious choice to keep on the roster.
