Most notable Cincinnati Bengals roster cuts ahead of 2021 season

Most Notable Bengals Roster Cuts – No. 2: Thaddeus Moss
It seemed pretty evident that Thaddeus Moss had done enough to earn the TE3 job on the Bengals’ roster. Well, rumors started floating around in the early afternoon that Moss didn’t make the team. He posted as such on his Instagram story (see tweet below).
Paul Dehner of The Athletic mentioned that the TE3 position came down to who could stand out more on special teams and Mitchell Wilcox has thrived in that role in the past. He also noted that the Bengals want Moss on their practice squad and he’ll get his shot if C.J. Uzomah or Drew Sample get banged up.
FWIW. Third TE was really going to be about ST coordinator Darrin Simmons. Moss didn't have a ton of experience on teams, but Mitchell Wilcox was the best of the bunch there. I suspect they will do everything to get Moss on the PS. If anything happens to Uzomah/Sample, he's up. https://t.co/qUZmmlYK3R

Moss previously played with Joe Burrow at LSU in 2019 and that was what got him a shot in Cincinnati. He played well during the preseason and caught the attention of the fans, so him not making the team hasn’t been a popular news piece amongst Bengals fans.
Hopefully, this isn’t the last we’ll see from Moss and he makes it onto the practice squad.
