Cincinnati Bengals should target Jimmy Moreland

One of the better players who found themselves without a team is former Washington Football Team cornerback, Jimmy Moreland. Moreland best lines up as a slot cornerback and had good success on a very talented Washington Football Team over the past two years.

While the secondary is considered one of the strengths on this Cincinnati team (at least from what we have seen in the preseason) adding talent can never hurt. This defense is largely recently assembled and it has yet to prove exactly how they will respond over an entire game. Moreland has played on one of the best defenses in the NFL and has a knack for creating turnovers.

If the Bengals are going to be successful this year they will almost certainly have to win the turnover battle more often than not. Creating turnovers is something the team has struggled with recently, so bringing in a quality young player who has shown that ability could be a great value move.

Whether Moreland would be a starter or depth piece should not change the mind of the front office. He is a young player who could even be signed to a several-year deal if things work out for both parties. This is a move that could pay dividends both now and for the next few years.

These players would undoubtedly make the Bengals a better team and they should pursue bringing them to the Queen City.
