The next time the Cincinnati Bengals take the field, it will be in a regular-season game. If Cincinnati wants to succeed in that game and throughout the season, there are a few players who need to elevate their level of play.

On a national level, the Bengals are not expected to do much this year. With a young team, there is hope for the future in Cincinnati, but in a crowded AFC North, the Bengals are viewed as the team still on the bottom. Within the Queen City, there is a little more optimism.

While most fans aren’t expecting a Super Bowl run this year, there is an excitement that this team could surprise a few people in 2021. An offense loaded with playmakers and a new look defense are both units that could go either direction – much better than expected or struggle gelling together.

If the Bengals are going to be a surprise winning team this year there are a few players and positions that need to step up. This is based on either previous years of performance or what we have seen so far in camp, but several people need to elevate their level of play in 2021.
