Gambling podcast struggles to find two wins for the Bengals

It is NFL prediction season. It is also gambling and fantasy season. If you are sure of a team or player, now is the time to get in on the action. It is also a good time to see how people really feel about things because money is on the line. One sports gambling podcast does not think highly of the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Sports Gambling Podcast presented by Wynnbet broke down the season for all four AFC North teams. They break down each schedule in detail, looking to where to place your money.  It is an entertaining and informative listen, even if you do not gamble or play fantasy.

And then, well, they talk about the Bengals. However bad you could have imagined this going as a fan, trust, it is even worse than that. Warning, if you are a Bengals fan who is easily triggered, this podcast episode is not for you.

By way of introduction, co-host Ryan Kramer points out that the Bengals finished last in the division last year while having the 20th hardest schedule.  This year, they have the 12th hardest schedule heading into the regular season. Things go downhill from here.

When talking about the possible direction of the Bengals’season,  co-host Sean Green states, “This feels like this team sucks. They bottom out. They get a top-five pick. They fire Zac Taylor and bring in Joe Brady. This story writes itself.”

And, to be fair, this is something that many Bengals fans thought could happen in 2019 and again in 2020. Why not team Burrow up with the offensive coordinator with whom he had so much success? Things have moved on since then, but that was definitely an idea floating around at the time.

As for gambling, they are beyond confident in betting the under 6.5 wins on the Bengals. Green says, “Getting to seven wins seems like a massive ask for this team.”

Later on in the segment, Kramer goes all in: “I don’t know where you’re finding six wins, seven. Seven! Seven wins is how we lose? Sean! We need to bet on this. We need to bet more than we’ve ever bet in our lives.”

Wow, that is an incredible statement made with the utmost certainty.

After all this, they proceeded to break down the schedule. Their season prediction for the Bengals: Green, 2-15; Scott Bowser (guest), 2-15; Kramer, 1-16.

It was a struggle for Green and Bowser to get to two wins. Kramer could only find one. They all agreed that the Bengals would win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4 on Thursday Night Football.

There are two prop bets they like. First, they like the Bengals for the least amount of wins at +750. The second is Zac Taylor as the first coach to be fired at 12 to 1 odds.

That is not all. They also searched for prop bets where they can get a good value on “Alt” spreads. They looked for where they could go to wager on the Bengals even further under the 6.5. They settled on Bengals over/under 5.5 as the best value at +125.

It was not all negative, however. They speak positively about Tee Higgins a couple of times for fantasy football. They call him a great value fantasy pick and think he will be a good red-zone weapon. They also really like the Bengals receiving core. This was the case even before the team drafted Ja’Marr Chase. So there is that.

It would be easy to write this off as just more national media hating on your team. But this is not that.

Perhaps Kramer was speaking hyperbolically when he said, “We need to bet more than we’ve ever bet in our lives.” It just did not come across as so.

This entire conversation could be a harbinger of things to come. Or, it could be the worst prediction radio in the history of podcasts. As Bengals fans, let’s hope it is the latter rather than the former.
