Joe Mixon is ready to carry this team to a winning season, and that attitude will become apparent in the first game.

Joe Mixon is ready to be part of a winning team. Mixon made sure that Cincinnati knew he was committed to winning by saying in an interview before practice “I want to put this city on my back.”

This is a huge statement from the player who was the lone bright spot for the team before Burrow joined. Against the Vikings, Mixon is going to go off.

Facing another top running back, Mixon has a little bit of extra motivation to show that he belongs in the conversation as a top-tier rusher. With an offensive line that looks improved, Mixon should have enough space to be able to make the Vikings pay.

Minnesota did not have a good run defense last year, and with limited improvements, there is reason to believe Mixon can take advantage of the weakness in the opponent.

Don’t be surprised if Mixon has over 100 yards rushing as the home crowd and excitement of the season help to elevate his play.
