Chris Evans

Chris Evans was one of the stars of preseason for the Bengals. Everyone should be really excited about what he can provide on the field. No, the Bengals are not going to take snaps away from Joe Mixon, but it would be nice to see him get a few snaps. Sort of like an easter egg, or a callback, to the preseason.

And it is not just Bengals fans who would like to see Evans once in a while. He had preseason that left fantasy players wondering what if?

There are elements to being a running back in the NFL. It is more than running the ball and catching passes out of the backfield. You must be a good pass protector. You must know where the blitzes are coming from and be able to pick them up.

One way to get Evans onto the field and minimize risk there is an empty backfield. Something that would allow Evans to get the ball in space and maneuver through the multiverse of upcoming defenses.

This would be a good way to get him onto the field until the coaches feel confident enough in every aspect.
