This could determine a Bengals win or loss.

Jonah Williams vs. Khalil Mack

Khalil Mack was limited in practice headed into the Bears game against the Rams last Sunday. This week, however, no such luck for the Bengals squad.

Mack didn’t show up on Chicago’s injury report all week. Some on Bears twitter were asking where the All-Pro pass rusher was during their Sunday night game. Perhaps he was hampered by a nagging injury.

Joe Burrow is well aware of how important it is to locate Mack when playing against him. In his press conference earlier this week, Cincinnati’s QB1 stated the following

"You gotta be aware of him at all times, whether you’re sliding your protection or chipping him, or getting the ball out quickly. You know, he’s one of the best pass rushers in the league."

Hopefully, the Bengals won’t be finding him in their backfield.

Jonah Williams held up well last week versus Minnesota. He’s going to need to replicate his stellar performance against Mack. Khalil’s reputation precedes him. Williams’ reputation has yet to be determined, but it’s one that can gain some momentum if he can shut Mack down.

If the Bengals are to win this game, Williams needs to outplay Mack. If that happens, the choice to bypass a left tackle in the draft will continue to look better and better.
