Round 6: Pick 158 – Tariq Casto-Fields, CB (Penn State)

Selecting another cornerback late in the 2022 NFL Draft would add more depth to Cincinnati’s corner room. As mentioned, the Bengals depth at corner is not the best right now. Their cornerbacks could become significantly better going forward if the Bengals are willing to invest a late-round pick into some corner depth.

Tariq Castro-Fields could be a good backup corner, he even has some potential to start as a perimeter cornerback. He can be physical in coverage and has the ability to make plays on the ball. Here are some of Castro-Fields‘ positives in a scouting report from The Draft Network.

"Castro-Fields has got a good amount of length and has proven to be combative at the catch point. I appreciate his tenacity at the top of route stems and his foot speed to trigger and attack plays in front of his face is sufficient to drive into the line of scrimmage from off coverage adequately and beat blockers to the spot."

It would be a smart decision for Cincinnati if they decided to grab a late-round cornerback, hoping he adds more depth to the secondary.
