Joe Burrow observations
1. Aggressive passing the ball down the field
This was a concern going into this game. The Bengals attempted a minimal number of passes down the field against Chicago, leading to a struggling offense. However, Burrow did not hesitate in this game to attack the Steelers secondary with shots down the field or at the very least 15-20 yard routes across the first down marker.
Keeping this same energy and aggression against Jacksonville and the rest of the Bengals’ teams will be vital. With Cincinnati’s weapons, airing the ball and taking shots down the field is how this offense will become dynamic and one of the better ones across the league.
It starts with blocking up front, but since the Bengals had that in this one, it allowed Burrow to survey the field and pick and choose where he wanted to throw the ball, which is exactly what this offense needs to be able to do.
If Joe Burrow keeps this same mentality moving forward, the sky’s the limit for this offense.
