After an exhilarating win on Thursday Night Football, it’s only natural that people are going to praise the hell out of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who played his best game of the 2021 season.
One of the biggest advocates for Burrow following the 24-21 victory over the Jaguars was CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco, who has been a fan of the Bengals signal-caller since he was drafted first overall just last year.
Prisco tweeted this after the game:
I said the night Joe Burrow was drafted the Bengals would win a Super Bowl in the next 10 years. I stand by that.

Wow! That’s some incredibly high praise for Burrow considering the Bengals haven’t exactly been a threat when it comes to the playoffs. They’ve failed to win a playoff game since 1991 (the 1990 season) and haven’t been to the Super Bowl since 1989 (the 1988 season).
While Prisco didn’t say the Bengals would go this year or anytime soon, he clearly believes in Burrow and what positive things he can do for an organization that hasn’t had much success.
Joe Burrow might be the guy who leads the Bengals to a Super Bowl.
Not only did Prisco say the Bengals could get to a Super Bowl with Burrow, he thinks they could win one. This might seem crazy, but a good example I can give is the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s hard to remember a time before Patrick Mahomes but before he took over as the starting quarterback of the Chiefs, that team struggled to win playoff games and would find the craziest ways to lose in the playoffs.
Well, we all know what happened, as the Chiefs have now gone to two Super Bowls with Mahomes and won one in the 2019 season. It might feel like the Bengals are cursed but the Chiefs hadn’t been to a Super Bowl in 50 years and were able to win one. Why can’t the Bengals follow this blueprint?
Burrow dazzled on Thursday night, tossing for 348 yards and two touchdowns with no picks and just one sack on the night. He put the team on his back and carried them to victory after a sluggish start and that’s what good quarterbacks — and leaders — do in this league.
Prisco isn’t the only one drinking the Kool-Aid. Joe Burrow is the real deal.
