Cincinnati Bengals Weekly MVPs

Special Teams: Brandon Wilson

Brandon Wilson was a consistent returner in this one, with one excellent return that put the Bengals in position around the 40-yard line. Evan McPherson and Kevin Huber had trouble in their spots in this game. This is why Wilson deserves to take the special teams player of the week with his consistent returning ability.

He had some trouble returning kickoffs until this game, but he did make up for it. Wilson returned four kicks for a total of 120 yards. His average was 30 yards per return, and his most extended return was for 44 yards which, as I said, set the Bengals up in a perfect spot.

Wilson has a good track record as a kick returner, and when things were starting to get skeptical if he should continue being that guy after a shaky first four games, he answered that question against Green Bay.

His aggression and passion for wanting to return the kicks are intriguing, but if he isn’t even reaching the 20 or 25, it becomes a cause for concern. However, he exceeded the line to gain almost every time in this one which is why he is the Special Teams MVP for the Cincinnati Bengals.
