Auburn vs. Arkansas

For the scouting community, the matchup is going to be a great one. It is also going to be important for how the Bengals grade Auburn’s defensive backs, Roger McCreary and Smoke Monday.

McCreary is going to be put to the test by Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks. Burks and McCreary are more than likely going to be selected in the first round of the draft.

As of now, McCreary is ranked as the second-best cornerback back by Kiper Jr. This game is an excellent opportunity for him to improve his standing with the scouts.

Monday is making the transition from corner to safety. After making 73 tackles last year, Auburn thought he might make a good safety. Monday might be charged with covering Burks himself at some point during the game.

Now that he is a safety, Monday will be able to show off his coverage skills. Thus, his versatility will be on display.

In the middle of the offensive line for the Razorbacks is center Ricky Stromberg.

Right now, Stromberg is the 34th ranked prospect overall by CBS. If he becomes a target of the Bengals, know that the draft capital will be high. His play was not perfect against the Georgia defensive line. But not many players are going to be. He can take what he learned from that game and continue to improve. If he can do that, he might go higher in than draft than we currently expect him to go.

More draft worthy Tigers that will be roaming the field on Saturday:

  • Zakoby McClain (LB)
  • Owen Pappoe (LB); day two grades
  • Shaun Shivers (RB)

More Razorbacks that deserve your attention:

  • Jalen Catalon (S); 2nd round grades
  • Tre Williams (DE)
  • John Ridgeway (DT)
  • Grant Morgan (ILB)
  • Treylon Burks (WR); 1st round
  • Myron Cunningham (OT)
