Sit ‘Em – Marquise Brown

Yes, I know that Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has been very good this year, but I don’t care. This Bengals defense is top ten in numerous categories, and brimming with confidence. They have also been very good at getting pressure on the quarterback. The defense should be able to get adequate pressure on Lamar Jackson to disrupt the receivers and force Jackson to throw to his safety valves, namely Mark Andrews.

With the glaring exception of Green Bay’s Davante Adams, (and who shuts down Adams?) the Bengals have fared very well against number 1 receivers, effectively shutting down Justin Jefferson, Alan Robinson, Diontae Johnson, Marvin Jones, and whoever the Lions consider their number 1 receiver.

Why can’t this continue against Brown? Is he better than Johnson, Robinson, Jones, or Jefferson? Nope. The Bengals coaching staff and secondary have done an excellent job of NOT allowing the opposing team’s alpha receiver to beat them.

Hollywood Brown’s strong suit is hitting the splash play. The Bengals have done an excellent job of not getting burned and keeping plays in front of them. We have seen almost no blown assignments or missed coverages. With the secondary at almost full health, (looking at you Trae Waynes), expect the defense to minimize the damage Brown does Sunday.

Prediction: 6 Rec, 77 yards, 0 TD

Here we go again kids, another week, another set of outstanding start/sit recommendations. I fully expect to be 100% right on all my calls, but just in case I’m not, at least we can focus on cheering on the Bengals to hopefully a win and first place!
