Positions for Bengals to upgrade

2. Defensive Line/Pass Rush

Prior to this weekend’s game in Baltimore, the pass rush outside of Trey Hendrickson wasn’t all that prominent. Sam Hubbard has his best game of the season vs the Ravens, so now upgrading the defensive line doesn’t look as important for this team.

At the same time, however, getting after the quarterback is the most important thing a defense can do once the ball is snapped, so why not get better in the pass-rushing department?

Hendrickson has been worth every penny and Hubbard finally came into his own this past weekend. The Bengals also have Larry Ogunjobi, who’s been great, and D.J. Reader, another solid player. The depth consists of B.J. Hill, Darius Hodge, rookie Cam Sample, and Josh Tupou.

Some key defensive linemen who are in the final year of their contract are Dante Fowler Jr. (Falcons), Brandon Graham (Eagles), Akiem Hicks (Bears), and Emmanuel Ogbah (Dolphins). These guys might not be trade candidates should their team want to keep them but if they’re available on the trade market, there’s no doubt they’d make the Bengals pass-rush one of the most feared in the league.
