Cincinnati Bengals: 3 best prop bets for Week 8 vs Jets

The Cincinnati Bengals finish off their three-game road trip with a matchup against the one-win New York Jets. Let’s take a look at some player prop bets for this AFC battle.
When the 5-2 Bengals take on the 1-5 Jets on Sunday, people are expecting it to be all Bengals. This, of course, is aided by the Jets being the Jets but also by New York not having their starting quarterback, as Mike White will get the start instead.
For those eyeing the player prop bets for this game, let’s examine three for when the Bengals square off against the NY Jets. All odds are courtesy of WynnBET.
Cincinnati Bengals Prop Bets
1. Ja’Marr Chase Longest Reception (26.5)
There’s no need to go into detail about how great Ja’Marr Chase has been to this point in his young career. He has Hall of Famers in awe of his abilities and for good reason. The kid is a beast.
It’s a bit surprising to see Chase’s longest reception set so low. In Chase’s last five games, he’s gone over that 26.5 total easily (the closest call being a long of 34 yards against the Steelers) so it’s hard to believe he won’t have a reception longer than 26.5 yards against the Jets of all teams.
Hit the over here and rejoice.
Prediction: 45 yards — Over (-116)
2. Joe Mixon Rushing Attempts (17.5)
It’s been great seeing Joe Mixon bounce back after leaving the Week 4 matchup early. He hasn’t had to miss any time and that’s a relief because he makes this offense better.
This week, Mixon’s rushing attempts have been set at 17.5, which he’s surpassed in four of his seven outings to this point. No offense to the Jets, but the Bengals should have this game wrapped up hopefully by the fourth quarter, if not sooner.
If they do, Mixon is going to be the guy carrying the rock to kill the clock. That should get him past 17.5 carries.
Prediction: 20 rushing attempts — Over (-108)
3. Michael Carter Rushing Attempts (11.5)
This one is tricky. On the one hand, the Bengals might be blowing out the Jets and that will lead New York to go away from handing off to Michael Carter. At the same time, however, teams have been able to run on the Bengals and if Carter finds success early on, this might be the only way the Jets can stay in this game.
Carter ended last week’s game with 11 carries despite the Patriots blowing the doors off the Jets but he’s had to split time with other running backs. That’s where the problem is. If the running game is having success, Carter might not be the one doing all of the work.
With him only surpassing 11 carries just once (Week 4 vs Tennessee), I don’t feel confident in Carter getting the job done here.
Prediction: 8 carries — Under (-130)
