Bengals Potential Trades

2. Ted Karras, C (Patriots)

The Bengals can’t go wrong trying to improve their offensive line. Adding more protection for Joe Burrow will always be a brilliant idea. The offensive line has been much better than last year, but it does seem a little on edge at times.

Burrow gets pressured a lot and most of it comes from the interior and at the center position where currently Trey Hopkins is the starter. Adding Ted Karras— a proven offensive guard and center — would make plenty of sense.

Karras would strengthen the interior of the offensive line, and Hopkins can play guard as well. Hopkins could move nicely into a rotational role with Jackson Carman and Quinton Spain and serve as the backup center to Karras, or Karras could serve as the rotational guy. Either way, he is highly affordable and he is a free agent after the season.

It wouldn’t hurt to add a solid depth piece to the line as the season grows and injuries start to happen. Having depth, especially for a playoff run, is crucial, and usually, the teams who are the most healthy are the ones who make it the furthest.
