This one is obvious but it’d be wrong to list young players who Bengals fans are optimistic about and not include Joe Burrow.

The Bengals spent the first overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft on Burrow and he was cruising as a rookie until an injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. He had a lot riding on his shoulders this season and for the most part, he’s answered the call.

Up until the blowout loss to the Browns, Burrow was on cruise control, throwing for multiple touchdown passes in every single game. He was bad in the loss to Cleveland, but prior to that, he had no problems airing out the pigskin and that’s what fans want to see from their franchise quarterback.

Through nine games this season, Burrow has tossed for 2,497 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 11 picks. He currently leads the league in interceptions, which is less than ideal but he’s made up for it with his multi-touchdown performances.

If the Bengals want to get to the playoffs, Burrow can’t play as poorly as he did on Sunday. He has to be the guy if this team is going to go anywhere.
