4. C.J. Uzomah

There might not be a player on this roster who’s more passionate about the Cincinnati Bengals than C.J. Uzomah. Prior to the season, Uzomah was already buying into this group as a Super Bowl contender and he’s been the voice for this team throughout the season.

Be that as it may, the former fifth-round pick is currently on track to hit free agency this spring but hopefully, the Bengals lock him up to an extension before that can happen. With how positive the guy has been this year, it’s hard to see him not accepting a decent extension but will the Bengals offer him something reasonable or anything at all?

Drew Sample was taken in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft and played decently when Uzomah went down last year and missed all but two games. This year, however, Sample has done next to nothing, so extending Uzomah could put the final nail in the “Will Sample be a good tight end for this team” coffin.

Uzomah will get attention on the open market if he hits it and that’s why Cincinnati should do everything in their power to keep him in the Queen City. He has 25 catches for 313 yards and five touchdowns through nine starts and is looking like one of the more dependable tight ends in the NFL.

Spotrac has Uzomah’s market value at $11 million annually and a three-year deal worth $33 million in total. This is totally doable for the Bengals and a deal they should offer him to ensure they have their tight end of the future locked up.
