The Cincinnati Bengals are currently vying for a playoff spot and their offense has played a huge part in that. While the offense is solid, they’ve had some rough games (as we saw before the BYE week) and could use some help in free agency this offseason.

Before we dive into possible free agents for the Bengals to add on the offensive side of the ball, let’s discuss who the team could potentially lose in free agency.

The biggest names slated to hit the free-agent market are Riley Reiff, Quinton Spain, and C.J. Uzomah, all starters and all big pieces for this offense. Non-starters potentially leaving after this season are Brandon Allen, Stanley Morgan, Auden Tate, and Mike Thomas.

With all of that in mind, let’s take a look at five free agents who could help the Bengals’ offense thrive in 2022. These guys might not all be the most exciting names but they’re players Cincinnati could use for what’s going to be an important year.

Note: I won’t be including any of the Bengals’ pending free agents in this article.

5. Adam Humphries, WR

The Bengals are in a good spot when it comes to their wide receivers in that they have three guys who could be WR1 on most teams. Tyler Boyd is their WR3 and he’s had two 1,000+ yard seasons during his time in the league.

Even with that being the case, the Bengals could lose three wide receivers in the offseason and they’ll need to add depth at the position. Adam Humphries of the Washington Football Team would be a perfect target for them to add.

Humphries, who went undrafted out of Clemson in 2015, made a name for himself in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers before playing in Tennessee and now currently catching passes in our nation’s capital. He’s not a superstar but fortunately, the Bengals don’t need one of those — Not at the wide receiver position at least.

Humphries currently has 21 receptions for 225 yards through nine games and seven starts. He’d be the perfect WR4 for this team in 2022 and wouldn’t be an expensive acquisition by any means.
