We finish off our list of offensive free agents with yet another Patriots offensive lineman who could really help this team thrive. Oddly enough, the Bengals were linked to Ted Karras during the trade deadline, as PFF wanted to see them trade for the Pats center.

It’d have made sense for this team to have done so but they didn’t make any moves. They could right the ship, however, by inking Karras to a contract over the offseason and that’d be a move that most Bengals fans would be a-okay with.

Trey Hopkins has been the starting center this season and he has not been good. The team spent a sixth-round pick on Trey Hill with the hopes that he could potentially take over there — and he still could — but when he played right guard earlier this season, he had a rough go of it.

Karras has a PFF grade of 70.6 and is the anchor of the Patriots’ offensive line this year. The Bengals desperately need an upgrade at the center position and Karras is one of the best options available in free agency this offseason.

If this team wants to be a contender, they’re going to need to add help on the offensive side of the ball when free agency begins in March. Three of the five free agents listed here are offensive linemen and that’s because the Bengals shouldn’t be content with the changes they’ve made. They need to keep being aggressive and make sure this line is as good as it can be.
