4. Marcus Williams, S
While fans are hoping the team is able to extend Jessie Bates before next season (or at the very least slap him with the franchise tag), there’s a chance they move on from him and if they do, Marcus Williams is going to be one of the best safeties available.
The former second-round pick out of Utah has thrived in New Orleans, appearing in at least 14 games in each of his first four seasons. He’s been incredible during his time with the Saints, but unfortunately for them, they have very little money and likely won’t be able to keep the safety on their roster.
Spotrac has Williams’ market value at five years for $67 million. This is something the Bengals could easily afford, especially if Bates leaves in free agency.
Signing a former Saints safety worked out well for Cincinnati in the past, as Vonn Bell has been sensational since joining the team last year. Adding Williams would likely mean that Bates doesn’t come back but it honestly might be an improvement over Bates. Not many players are better than him at his position, but Williams very well might be.
