Bengals Roster: 4 players you might have forgotten about this season

1. Tyler Shelvin

Some fans might actually be asking “Who?” when reading the name on the final slide but yes, Tyler Shelvin is a member of the Cincinnati Bengals and is technically on their active roster, even if he hasn’t played much this season.

What makes the invisibility by Shelvin worse is that Cincy spent a fourth-round pick on the guy. While fourth-round picks aren’t typically full-fledged stars, they’re — at the very least — helping out on special teams.

Instead, we’ve seen Shelvin make an appearance in just one game this season, which was the blowout loss to Cleveland in Week 9. He played 8% of the defensive snaps and really only got a shot to play that week because of how lopsided the score was. Not ideal.

Shelvin isn’t even one year into his pro career so there’s still a chance he contributes to Cincinnati down the stretch. We should probably be fortunate that we haven’t seen much of Shelvin because it means the guys ahead of him on the depth chart are playing well and staying healthy, so that’s a positive.

So, Bengals fans, did you forget that these guys were on the roster?
