There is absolutely no time to waste for the Cincinnati Bengals. Even though the stripes picked up their fifth loss on the year, they are right in the thick of the playoff and AFC North title race.

The much-hated Pittsburgh Steelers did Cincy a massive solid, defeating the Ravens at home. This keeps the division leaders within one game of the Bengals. This means that there is absolutely no time to dwell on Cincinnati’s loss to the Chargers.

Mistakes have to be cleaned up, and this team has to get healthy. Most importantly, Zac Taylor has to get his players more prepared. The 49ers are no pushover, and the Bengals are going to have to quickly correct the mistakes in order to win.

This is what Cincinnati needs to do in order to win on Sunday.

Limit the turnovers

The great X-factor in all of football is turnovers. The Bengals coughed up the ball four times (two fumbles and two interceptions) in their loss to the Chargers. One of these fumbles came on a drive that could have resulted in Cincinnati taking the lead in the fourth quarter. Joe Burrow had another incredibly disheartening interception, in the end zone late in the fourth quarter.

Turnovers have been an issue for this squad and continue to plague Burrow. He has accounted for 18 turnovers and 14 of them coming from interceptions. As much as Burrow has willed this team to victories, he has also coughed up the ball at crucial times.

The Bengals are playing teams the rest of the season that will make them pay for losing the football so that mistake HAS to be cleaned up.
