With the additional 17th game in 2021, the Cincinnati Bengals (7-5) host an opponent they wouldn’t have faced otherwise in the San Francisco 49ers (6-6). Both teams are currently in the No. 7 spot of the playoff picture so a win in week 14 is critical. Both teams also play in tough divisions but the difference for Cincy is that they’re still very much alive in their division title race.

The last time we saw Cincinnati they lost by 19 points to the Chargers. While the scorecard indicates that the game was a blowout, the Bengals battled back down 24-0 to make it a two-point game but then didn’t have enough left in the tank to pull off the comeback.

The last time we saw San Francisco, they lost to the Seahawks, who have been a dumpster fire this season. Not a good look for the Niners.

This is certainly going to be an interesting matchup and the NFL clearly agreed when they moved it from the 1:00 kickoff to the 4:25 kickoff, allowing more people to watch this AFC-NFC showdown.

Chidobe Awuzie Injury Update

Cincy signed cornerback Chidobe Awuzie in free agency and he’s been tremendous for them. He exited last week’s game with a foot injury and the team could desperately use him for this matchup, as he’s their best corner. He didn’t practice on Wednesday and Thursday and was limited in practice on Friday.

Bengals vs 49ers Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 14

Per WynnBET, Cincinnati is a 1.5-point home underdog to the 49ers with a money line of +105. San Francisco’s money line is set at -125. The over/under sits at 49.0 points, which is fitting since the stripes are playing the 49ers. Bad joke, I know.

Vegas initially had Cincinnati favored in this one and then switched to picking the Niners, which shows that they’re unsure of how to feel. Both teams are desperate for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive and we’ll hopefully see a good game on Sunday.

Call me optimistic, but even with their injuries, the good guys will pull this one off. Give me a 28-21 Bengals victory.
