4 players who must be on Bengals’ Christmas wish list for 2022
Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner (Cornerback)
This would be a popular addition for the Bengals, as Ahmad Gardner currently plays college football in the Queen City, suiting up at cornerback for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Gardner is one of the best corners in this year’s draft class and has been a consistent game-changer for the Bearcats during his three years there.
Cincy is more than likely going to cut ties with Trae Waynes this offseason, as he hasn’t panned out during his two seasons with the team. Fortunately, Chidobe Awuzie and Mike Hilton have played well and the team should consider re-signing Eli Apple to keep their cornerback unit up to snuff for 2022 and beyond.
Even with that group, Gardner would be a starting-caliber corner who could add some juice (or “sauce”, rather — bad joke, sorry) to this secondary. He’s a proven winner and it’d be great to get him on this defense and accomplish what the organization was hoping Waynes would accomplish.
There’s probably a decent chance that Gardner is available when Cincinnati is on the clock this April but we’ll have to see. If he is, it’d be hard to pass up on the guy.
