4 players who must be on Bengals’ Christmas wish list for 2022

Chandler Jones (Linebacker)

The pass rush has been much better this year for Cincinnati but they could certainly stand to add another talent or two. There might not be a better pass-rusher hitting free agency this spring than Chandler Jones, who has nine and a half sacks on the year for Arizona.

Now, it’s worth noting that five of those sacks came in the Cardinals’ dominant Week 1 win over the Titans but Jones is still someone who can get after the quarterback. In 2019, he finished the season with a whopping 19 sacks, and in 2017, he totaled 17 sacks. The point is that Jones loves to feast on the quarterback and pairing him with Trey Hendrickson and SamHubbard would be unfair to opposing offensive lines.

Spotrac has Jones’ market value set at three years worth $46 million, which feels doable for the Bengals. They have the money to afford to offer a contract in this ballpark and with Jones’ age (he’ll turn 32 in February) paired with cooling off majorly after such a hot start, this actually could be a free agent Cincy could land.

Getting after the quarterback consistently is the most important thing a defense can do so why not add more pass-rushers? Chandler Jones is someone Cincinnati has to inquire about this offseason.
