2. Bengal defense holds Ravens to under 100 rushing yards

The Ravens have some of the best team rushing stats in the NFL: 4.7 yards per rush (5th), 144.7 rushing yards per game (3rd), and 1.1 rushing touchdowns per game (7th). Baltimore’s success on offense all starts and ends with the run game. Cincy will surely be focused on stopping the run this Sunday, more than ever.

Holding the Ravens to under 100 rushing yards is no easy task as they average nearly 31 rushing attempts per game, which is third in the NFL. They run the ball frequently, leaning on Jackson’s explosive rushing ability.

Baltimore’s superstar Lamar Jackson will likely play, but his status is still up in the air with a sprained ankle. He missed last week’s action against the Packers, and his ability to run should be somewhat limited coming off a sprained ankle.

In their first battle, the Bengals did a fantastic job of containing Jackson from start to finish. While Cincy’s defense went through struggles since then, they are finding their footing again. If Jackson is halted on the ground, Baltimore’s rushing attack should have a poor day.

Cincinnati could have the recipe to limit Jackson on the ground. If that is truly the case, the Bengals’ rushing defense should have a great day ahead.
