The Cincinnati Bengals have their toughest test yet, as they’re preparing to welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to Paul Brown Stadium for a key AFC matchup. Joe Burrow spoke to the media ahead of the game and expects the ball to fly throughout the game.

Burrow and his offense are coming off a game where they scored 41 points and the quarterback threw for 525 yards and four touchdowns in the blowout victory over Baltimore.

While the Ravens were mostly down to practice squad players, Burrow had the best game of his career and he knows he’ll need to have that same explosiveness against an 11-4 Chiefs squad. Kansas City’s defense was bad in the first month and a half of the season but they’ve turned things around and Burrow knows it’ll be tough.

The Chiefs have been good at forcing takeaways and Burrow at one time led the league in interceptions. He’s been better at taking care of the football in recent weeks, not having thrown a pick in the past three games.

When asked about this, Burrow said he’s not playing hero ball anymore. A few weeks ago, he noted that he was taking what the defense would give him and not forcing the ball into tight windows. This has definitely played into him not throwing interceptions recently.

Burrow also mentioned that his arm is stronger now than it was last year. This shows when he always manages to make magic happen when targeting his LSU guy Ja’Marr Chase.

Joe Burrow is ready to put up points against the Chiefs.

This matchup will pit Burrow against Patrick Mahomes for the first time in his career and it’s a quarterback battle that everyone in the league is looking forward to. Mahomes led the Chiefs to the No. 1 seed in the AFC in his first full season as a starter and the following year led them to a Super Bowl championship.

Bengals fans hope that Burrow can follow a similar path as Mahomes. He’s currently in year two and has given fans the confidence that the Cincinnati gunslinger can lead this team to the promised land.
