Least likely playoff match for Cincinnati Bengals

Buffalo Bills

The most challenging matchup the Bengals could have in the first round is against the Buffalo Bills. All that would need to happen is the Patriots winning and the Bills losing this weekend to have the Patriots become the third seed, drop Cincinnati down to the fourth seed, and the Bills would land in the fifth spot.

Fortunately, this doesn’t look all that likely, as Buffalo is slated to face a hapless Jets team. They should easily take down the Jets and win the AFC East for the second straight year.

The Bills are a well-balanced team that can score a whole lot of points in a hurry. They have been a part of some of the biggest blowouts of the season, but have also had some inexplicable losses.

The reason the Bills are the hardest potential matchup is because of this inconsistency. They have the biggest point differential in the NFL  and have shown glimpses of being Super Bowl contenders.

The experience of last year, coupled with their success this year, would likely make them a slight favorite in a playoff game against Cincinnati.

While the Bengals could come away with a win against anyone, this would be the most challenging matchup for the Bengals during the Wild Card round.
