11 shining stars from Bengals’ AFC Championship victory vs. Chiefs

Cincinnati Bengals Shining Stars
4. Sam Hubbard
Another pass-rushing presence makes it on the list, this time in the form of Cincinnati’s own, Sam Hubbard. Two of the biggest plays in this game came from Hubbard, who had two sacks on Mahomes on back-to-back plays.
These plays were ones that forced the Chiefs to kick a field goal to tie the game rather than attempt to go for a touchdown and win the game at the end of regulation. I’d say Hubbard’s extension was well worth it.

3. Evan McPherson
Once again, Money Mac came through in the clutch. He kicked the game-winning field goal for the second straight week and has still yet to miss in the playoffs. He’s doing all of this as a rookie too.
Bengals K Evan McPherson this season:
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) January 31, 2022
- 12 FG made from 50+ yards (most by any kicker in a single season ever)
- 3 game-winning FG in OT/as time expired in the regular season (Weeks 1, 4, 17)
- 2 game-winning FG in OT/as time expired in the playoffs
Money Mac.
McPherson finished the game going 4/4 on field goals and then connecting on his one and only extra-point attempt. The kid is proving over and over again why drafting a kicker in the fifth round is a smart move, especially if you find the right kicker.
