After completing an 18-point comeback against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, the Bengals are one win away from their first Super Bowl championship in team history. WynnBET has the Bengals as 4-point underdogs against the Rams and +165 on the moneyline (bet $10 to win $16.50) while the over/under is 48.5.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals will have their hands full against a ferocious Rams team playing in front of their home crowd but they wouldn’t call it magical if it was going to be easy, right?

There’s a ton of information out there about the best spread bet to make in this matchup, but what about the total? Where can Bengals bettors look for value on the over/under?

Bet the Under in the Super Bowl

This total is a bit too high based on the styles these teams play. While the offenses are loaded with star names from Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase to Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, each team’s head coach has received criticism for conservative play-calling.

Zac Taylor has caught heat for repeated early-down runs despite having Burrow and his bevy of receivers. This has meant longer drives for Cincinnati as Burrow is repeatedly asked to convert third downs to keep drives alive. The more plays it takes to complete a drive, the longer it takes to score and the more likely an under is to hit.

Meanwhile, Sean McVay’s 4th-down decisions have been questioned throughout the season. He’s frequently punted away on 4th and short, preferring to play the field position game and force an opponent to, you guessed it, embark on a long drive in order to score.

Further, both teams were in the bottom half of the NFL in red zone success rate during the regular season. After long drives that drain the clock, a field goal helps keep the score low.

As a result, the under has been a great bet for both teams. The under is 4-0 in the Bengals’ last four games as their defense has stepped up and the offensive line has faltered.

When the Rams are a favorite, they’ve shied away from airing it out and instead typically rely on the run game, resulting in the under going 7-3 in their last 10 as a favorite.

I see a tightly-contested contest as Aaron Donald, Von Miller and Leonard Floyd harass Burrow all game and the Bengals defense is able to force a couple turnovers. 48.5 is just too many points for the kind of game we’re likely to see unfold.

Give me the under 48.5 (-110) as the score goes under the total for the fourth consecutive Super Bowl.
