During the Super Bowl media firestorm that we experience each year for the week before the big game, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was asked what advice he would give to young athletes.
His answer applies not just to youngsters, but to everyone.
In a video that’s garnered more than 1.4 million views on Twitter alone, Burrow said the following:
“Focus on getting better. Don’t have a workout, post it on Instagram the next day and then sit on your butt for the next four days, so everyone thinks you’re working hard but you’re really not. Work in silence. Don’t show everybody what you’re doing. Let your games on Friday nights and Saturday nights and Sunday nights show all the hard work that you’ve put in. Don’t worry about all that social media stuff.”
