Bengals Free Agents in 2022

  • Jalen Davis
  • Vernon Hargreaves
  • Darius Phillips
  • Auden Tate
  • Mike Thomas

We round out this post with the five remaining free agents. Davis appeared in 15 games this season, Hargreaves is going to be remembered for all of the wrong reasons, Phillips was under heavy scrutiny for his fumble issues plus he’s injured, Tate was nowhere to be found this season, and Thomas has always been a depth piece.

Out of this bunch, I could see either of the receivers being retained with Thomas being the likely option to keep. Tate didn’t do much of anything this year and was injured so moving on from him wouldn’t be a crazy decision by any means, especially with the stacked talent Cincy has at the receiver position.

Hargreaves probably would have quietly exited Cincinnati but after his dumb decision to celebrate on the field despite not being dressed for the game, he definitely won’t be back in 2022. If he is, it’s because the team is desperate for help in the secondary.

The good news for the Cincinnati Bengals is that they have a lot of money to afford key players in the offseason whether that’s bringing in a new face or re-signing old ones. That makes free agency less daunting for this crew.
