5. Jacoby Brissett
Similar to a few of the guys on this list, Jacoby Brissett was once a starter in the NFL. He got his chance to prove what he could do in Indianapolis both in 2017 and again in 2019 when Andrew Luck promptly retired.
What Brissett showed was that he could handle backup quarterback duties but that’s his best role. He was a backup in Miami this past season and ended up starting five games for the Dolphins while Tua Tagovailoa was injured.
QB wins-losses aren’t something we put much stock into but in this case, Brissett didn’t doom his team, as they went 2-3 while he was quarterbacking the offense.
A quarterback known for what he can do with his legs, Brissett has turned into one of the more well-thought-of backup signal-callers and he’s under 30. If the Bengals wanted him to be their next QB2, they could offer him a multi-year contract and not have to be in this situation a year from now.
