Cincinnati Bengals listed as ‘best fit’ for Orlando Brown in free agency
It’s no secret that the Cincinnati Bengals need to desperately upgrade their offensive line this offseason and Orlando Brown Jr. is one of the best targets they could add to their o-line.
According to Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report, Brown is the best free agent under the age of 25 and the best fit for his services is — you guessed it — the Bengals.
"The Cincinnati Bengals should be especially eager to get Brown, as no quarterback was sacked more during the regular season (51 times) than Joe Burrow. He was sacked another 19 times in the postseason.Whether the Bengals view Brown as an upgrade over left tackle Jonah Williams or as a replacement or impending free agent Riley Reiff on the right side, they can find a home for him. They have enough cap space to target Brown, and they could offer him the chance to continue chasing Super Bowls."
Unfortunately for Cincinnati, the Chiefs are probably going to do whatever they can to keep Brown in Kansas City. If he were to hit free agency, however, the stripes would be an obvious fit.
Orlando Brown in a Cincinnati Bengals uniform would be a dream come true
As Knox mentions, adding Brown could lead to Jonah Williams being moved to the right side or he could slide in at one of the guard spots as well. People seem on board with the idea of Williams maybe not sitting at left tackle next season. He was good there, but not great and teams with franchise quarterbacks need great left tackles.
Brown would be just that. He’s a Pro Bowl tackle on both the left side of the line and the right side of the line, though he’s definitely made it clear that he wants to be on the left side. That’s the reason he’s not in the AFC North anymore, as the Ravens wanted him at right tackle.
Obviously if Brown and the Chiefs don’t agree on an extension, the Bengals need to go all in landing him. He’d instantly shore up what was one of the worst offensive lines in the league last year and at this point, that’s the only true thing standing in the way between Cincinnati winning a Super Bowl.
