4. James Daniels

PFF has James Daniels as the 40th best free agent and there’s a lot to like about this kid. He’ll turn 25 early in the 2022 season so he’s going to sign a lengthy deal this offseason and deservedly so after the year he had in Chicago paired with his age.

The Bears put Daniels at right guard in 2021 and he finished with a career-high grade of 71.0 on PFF. He’s projected to earn a five-year contract worth $50 million with a $10 million annual salary and $24 million in guaranteed money. That’s actually a really solid contract for a guy who will only be 24 years old at the beginning of the season.

If this was the deal Cincy signed Daniels to, he’d hit free agency again at 29 years old and could sign yet another massive deal. This is a player who is young but he could be exactly what this offensive line needs moving forward and the Bengals could have a young, talented guy under contract through the rest of his 20s.

Daniels should be a hot commodity in free agency but the Bengals need to throw their hat into the ring for sure.
